“Don’t use weakening energies employed by those around you. Other people can’t bring you down if you’re operating at the higher energies.” –Dr. Wayne Dyer.
I’ve always found energies to be very real when interacting with people. When we interact with others, we can often feel a VIBE, SPIRIT, EMOTION,etc. I call it an energy because that is essentially what our bodies are made up of-energy. I’ve been studying this subject in great depth recently, and would like to pass on to you, 10 ways to raise the energy in your life.
1. Be Aware Of Negative Thoughts
Pride, anger, jelousy, sadness, and hurt are all low energy thoughts. Scientists can actually measure the frequency of a thought and these types of low-energy thoughts physically drain you.
Begin to simply be aware of your thoughts.
Ask yourself, “Am I having high energy thoughts right now, or low?”
2. Make Meditation Regular
An entire article could be written on meditation. I wish I could remember who said it, but a wise man once observed that the problem with Western men is their inability to sit quietly in a room alone. We all need peaceful moments to just clear our minds. I’ll warn you however, that you must schedule this time, or your meditation and breakthroughs will never come.
3. Eat Better Foods
Its fairly obvious that foods also carry specific energies as well. If you’re often feeling low energy, take a look at the food that you are consuming. If you want to feel alive, eat food that is alive. Avoid: Dairy, sugars, starches, and other processed foods.
Eat more of: fruits, vegetables, nuts, olive oils, legumes, and healthy fats such as avacado.
4. Avoid Artificial Drugs and Alcohol
Artificial drugs disempower your natural judgement as well as attract other low energy people in to your life. While these substances may give you a temporary boost, coming off of them certainly is not giving you any energy.
5. Monitor Music
Harsh, loud, pounding music lowers your energy. Pay attention to the lyrics. You may think that lyrics don’t effect you but they do very much so on a subconscious level. Avoid lyrics that talk about fear, pain, hate, and voilence. Find lyrics that attract positive things into your life. I’ll let you figure out what you consider to be positive peaceful things. My rule of thumb is to avoid music that fills me with self pride and ego.
6. Energy In Your Home
Clutter, the art and objects you hang on your walls, and the colors all effect the energy in your home. You may not even be aware of how this effects your energy until you are in a house that has good feng shui. If you feel depressed a lot while in your own home, you may consider hiring a feng shui consultant to come and help you fix some things. Sometimes it’s just as simple as opening more light, changing your colors, and getting the clutter out of your living space.
7. Ditch TV
Television offers multiple streams of negativity. Even if you focus on shows that are education in nature or are otherwise neutral, the commercials that are broadcast are constantly telling you what the world thinks you need to buy, be, and who you are. I literally watch no TV. To me, there are so many more quality things I can do with my time.
8. Written Affirmations
There is energy in actually putting to paper what you desire your life to become. You must say these written statements each day with energy and these things will start to appear in your life. Six months ago I was reading some specific income goals off of my 3×5 affirmation cards really having no clue how they would come true. I continued to say this with absolute certainty and belief, and now 6 months later they have come to be. Nothing is by chance.
9. Friends and Family
Watch out for negative friends and family. Even though we love them, we don’t have to believe what they say all the time and we don’t have to be around them if they aren’t uplifting our lives. If you leave your relatives or friends and literally feel depressed or lower, it may be a strong sign that they are not adding to your energy, they are taking from it. I choose to only associate with positive people.
10. Monitor Your Environment
There are places which bring about incredible energy. 2 days ago, I spent 4 hours on my mountain bike riding the trails of the redwood forests in norther California. The energy was incredible and to say that I left better and more juiced about life would be an understatement!
Avoid: Dark places, places where excessive drugs or alcohol are present, violence, pride, hate, or prejudice places.
Add: Time in nature, attending positive lectures, playing, yoga, massage, meditation, service to others, attending your house of worship.
“We attract to us which we emanate.”
–Dr. David Hawkins.
